AdventHealth Tampa, affiliated with Pepin Heart Institute, is currently recruiting another board certified/board eligible Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join AdventHealth Medical Group Heart Care at Brandon and 7 cardiologists. AdventHealth Pepin Heart Institute was the first accredited Chest Pain Center in the region and is nationally recognized among many firsts. The first in Tampa and among the first in the country to perform the TAVR procedure, first in Tampa to offer Watchman procedure and the first in Tampa to utilize the Impella RP heart pump.

Location: Ocala, FL - Specialty: Certified Nurse Midwife

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Incorporates patient, physician, customer needs and concerns into decision-making and organizational action.
  • Performs initial and on-going assessments of self-care, psychosocial needs, education, environment and discharge planning, incorporating information from the identified significant other and other health providers.
  • Utilizes skills of observation, inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation using diagnostic instruments or laboratory procedures that are basic to the screening of physical signs and symptoms.
  • Utilizes fetal monitoring screening for auscultating, monitoring, and assessment of fetal heart tones.
  • Assesses learning needs, readiness, and capabilities of patient/family, including cultural, religious practices, language barriers, emotional barriers, educational level, motivation and limitations.
  • Documents patient care findings within established standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Manages the medical plan of care prescribed for the client, based on protocols or guidelines adopted jointly by the certified nurse midwife, and attending physician.  Review and revise protocols/guidelines annually.  Addresses physical, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, educational, and discharge needs.
  • Initiates referrals to external or internal care providers or community agencies as needed.
  • Seeks appropriate resources to clarify information concerning the nursing/medical care regime as needed.  Coordinates care by collaborating with physicians and others to obtain appropriate services, including multidisciplinary team meetings.

Job Summary:

The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) is a professional nurse licensed in Florida to function in an expanded role to provide primary health care to individuals, families or groups. The Certified Nurse Midwife functions in a collegial relationship with physicians and other health professionals in the delivery of primary health care services. They are able to make independent decisions with physicians in carrying out health regimens for families and clients. The Certified Nurse Midwife is directly accountable and responsible to the patient.

Program Director FM Residency Program

A great opportunity is available in a new ACGME accredited Family Medicine Residency program.

Seeking an enthusiastic Family Medicine physician to lead a community-based 24 Resident Program (8-8-8), that started in July 2021 in Sebring, Florida.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide mentoring, teaching and supervision of the faculty, residents and students in the Family Medicine Program.
  • Serve as an advisor and role model.
  • Mentor and provide critical evaluations of the clinical and teaching effectiveness of the family medicine residents and program.
  • Ensures adequate physician, resident and other provider supervision of the outpatient teaching services.
  • Serve as a preceptor for residents who see patients in the FMP.
  • Serve as a role model by seeing patients within the FMP.
  • Practice and teach full-spectrum Family Medicine.
  • Provide clinical supervision of medical students and residents in an outpatient setting.
  • Teach didactics and assist in leading curriculum development.
  • Interview and recruit faculty for the clinic, maintain adequate physician staffing at the clinical site, perform yearly reviews of faculty goals and accomplishments, provide direct clinical care to patients, teach Family Medicine medical students and residency training in the clinic location, and conduct research.
